Qualities to look for in Your Bridal Artist/Team

CONGRATULATIONS! You’re engaged! You probably started dreaming of your wedding day look before they even popped the question. And now, it’s time to bring that Pinterest board to life!

As you begin to search for bridal hair and makeup artists on websites such as WeddingWire and TheKnot, you may become intimidated. You may begin to think that choosing the artist who offers you the lowest price won’t make a difference, or that choosing the most expensive beauty pro is the best way to go. BUT WAIT! Before you choose your bridal glam team, here are a few things that you should think about.

Experience:

You want a hair and makeup artist that has some good, hearty experience under their belt. We’re talking about “been there, done that” kind of experience. The last thing you need on your wedding day is to feel stressed, unsure and not confident about your hair and makeup artist and their work. At Beauty and the Blush, we have over 10+ years of experience and have worked more than 250+ weddings. We’ve seen it all and are prepared for it all. This is why we offer each of our brides a hair and makeup trial. We make sure that we achieve the exact look you’re dreaming of. And if we don’t figure it out the first time, we’ll figure it out at the second trial! Before your big day, we provide a schedule for the hours prior to your ceremony so that you know exactly what to expect for your time getting ready. The morning of, we bring extra supplies so that we are extra prepared for whatever comes our way.

Reputation:

This may seem obvious, but we know there have been one too many brides that have found themselves stuck with a vendor with a hidden, not-so-great reputation. How does this happen? Well, the bride may have failed to do their research. The great thing about websites such as TheKnot and WeddingWire is that they show ratings on vendors that have been shared by people like yourself. We recommend, however, that you don’t stop there. Do some more digging. Google your hair and makeup artist of interest and find as much information as you can about their work. Check their website for testimonials… and look to see if they have a good amount posted.

Reachable:

You shouldn’t have to wait days for a response from your bridal artist. As the client, responding to your messages should be top priority. There are several reasons for this. First, your time is valuable. You don’t want to feel that your time is being wasted by waiting several days for a response. Second, there is a lot of planning to be done! The planning for your big day can’t move forward without fluid, back and forth communication between you and your vendors. Third, YOU are paying THEM! This means that your bridal artist is at service to you and should be prioritizing everything that you need from them. At Beauty and the Blush, we pride ourselves on our response time to our brides. We understand that wedding planning is stressful and constant, and we are quick to answer any questions you may have so that the planning process can quickly move forward.

Passionate:

Last but most definitely not least, your bridal glam team should be passionate about what they do. Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life. You are most likely bursting with excitement about this moment and so should your hair and makeup team! They should be your cheerleaders and hype team, ready to assist you in making this the best day of your life. Not to mention they should mesh well with you and the I DO CREW.

Good energy and vibes is huge, and we make sure you have a pleasant memory on what should be a magical day. Hope this helped. Now go book that amazing Bridal Artist/Team.
